When sending data, short checksum is generated based on data content and sent along with data. If there is any error, by simply checking row and column bits you can not only detect the error but can also correct it. On the receiver side too implement the same algorithm for received 8 bytes of data and compare with the checksum bytes received. A cyclic redundancy check (CRC) is an error-detecting code used to detect data corruption. So you have generated two bytes of checksum C1 as 00101001 (29H) and C2 as 00010100 (94H).
